The Canon EOS R7 is a 2022 APS-C 32.5MP mirrorless camera on the Canon RF / RF-S mount. It shoots up to 30 frames per second, records 4K 60p video and has in-body stabilisation, and it's weather sealed. The 1.6× crop frames birds tighter with smaller, cheaper lenses. Use the mechanical shutter for fast action.
It's best suited to wildlife & animals, sports & action. In our database, 36 lenses fit it natively (14 from third-party makers such as Sigma, Tamron, Samyang), and 23 fit with an adapter.
Used at MPB it currently sells for £664 to £949 depending on condition, against roughly £1,049 new: a saving of up to 37%.

APS-C or full-frame lenses? Lenses made for APS-C are smaller, lighter and cheaper, and they cover the wide angles properly. Full-frame lenses fit and work fully on the EOS R7, but you carry glass sized for a bigger sensor, and a 24-70mm frames like 36-105mm, so it isn't wide. Full-frame lenses make most sense for telephoto, fast primes, or if you plan to move to a full-frame body later.
Canon's long-running full-frame/enthusiast battery. Older LP-E6N and LP-E6 also fit most bodies, with reduced performance on some. Third-party: SmallRig USB-C version £31.90. Carry at least one spare.
Card slots
2× SD (UHS-II)
A V60 UHS-II SD card clears bursts quickly; V90 only if you use the highest-bitrate video modes.
